This week I wasn't able to work on any electronics because my sensor hasn't came in yet, so I focused on the building side of things. To cover up the PCB, I want to make a plaque with general information about the players. I made a model of it in Fusion, but it is only for show and would not function in real life. There's random extrusions and different things with the text, and I rushed making it which did not turn out well. While it's a good start and basic frame for what I need to do, I an 100% going to redo it in the future once the PCB is actually cut, but that's all gonna depend on how long it takes for me to figure out the electronics. I also tried to 3D print my LED strip test piece which I've had ready for about three weeks now, but once again the printer got clogged and wasn't able to print it. Once that prints I can start making my 3D model of the jersey frame a reality, but after some thought I don't need to go to carpentry to make the frame.
I decided to learn how to use the CNC router to see if I could potentially use it for my project. Milo, who is making his broom holder, taught me all the basics. I learned how to zero x, y, and z and put on and take off different drill bits for specific cuts. Milo's device had two separate types of cuts, so I used a wrench to switch out the bits. I also learned how to use the remote control, and I learned what each button did. Once it was done cutting, I helped him to stain the wood with light brown stain, which is what I would like to do for my frame eventually because of the nice wood look it gives it. I was trying to figure out ways to cut my 3 dimensional frame with the router, and Milo suggested that I cut out different layers and screw them together in order to make the different grooves for different LEDs, hinges, magnets, etc. All that's left to do is make my jersey frame CAD model into separate layers, which Mr. L suggested doing with projections and different sketches. Next week hopefully the sensor comes in and I can start making my frame in real life.
